Septic Death

I am heavily into Septic Death, Disrupt and Capitalist Casualties these days. Good dirty hardcore. Especially Septic Death rules my world right now. I have a bootleg 2CD with their complete discography, a sweet package with silk screened cover and loads of alternative versions and live tracks.

I remember hearing Septic Death the first time, it was on a tape my brother brought to my house with Septic Death's "Now That I Have the Attention, What Do I Do With It?" on one side and Napalm Death's Scum on the other.

Remember, this was the summer of 1987, grindcore didn't exist. So naturally this tape blew our fucking minds. The sheer extremity and speed was rather overwhelming for us being tender young boys (16 years old). Now 23½ years later I am certain that that tape changed my life for the better. My own band Sardonic Death was named partly as tribute to Napalm Death and Septic Death. Indeed my current band Kusari Gama Kill almost got called Kusari Gama Death for the same reason.

Hell yeah! Go buy these records, or do a blogspot hunt for them.

Long live the Green Dragon!!

Peace and love

Melt-Banana fucking RULES

Oh goddamnit, I am sooo hevily into everything Melt-Banana ever made! The punky bass, grindish drum, freq'ed out guitar and the j-pop vocals totally do my head in!

I suggest you get your sorry asses onto the blogspots, iTunes, Amazon or your local record pusher and secure yourself some Japanese fun!!

Fukpig: Spewings From A Selfish Nation

Hullo, I'm back. I just want to point you in the direction of this baby. The genre is black crust, there are only two beats: Blast and D. Groovy!!

S.O.B. Don't Be Swindle + Thrash Night

This is one sweet ass lp. From the opening riff of Raging In Hell, to the closing screams of To Be Continued this bastard rips, roars and rules!

Along with their Thash Night 7" this is their finest hour.

So if you want to learn how to grind the japanese way, these records are great starting points!

Haemorrhage: Morgue Sweet Home

Now this is some seriously sweet goregrind. Totally Carcass-worshipping, but still with an own vibe.
I also really dig their split with Gonkulator!

Enemy Soil: Smashes the State! R.I.P. 1991 - 1998

This is a seriously fantastic album.

If you aren't familiar with Enemy Soil, this is a good place to begin! 72 tracks of partly drum-machine-propelled grindcore!

Go get it!

Seems like I already made propaganda for this, but fuckit, it's brilliant, so who cares?

Autopsy: Mental Funeral

Gottverdamme! This LP always does it for me. The dirty production, the wellcrafted songs and the sick lyrics! If yer into filthy death metal, this is the album to own!

Anaal Nathrakh

Hmm, I really just want to point your nose at Anaal Nathrakh. If you don't know them, I can tell you that they play grim nihilistic drum-machine propelled black metal. It is fast and extremely disturbing to listen to. Most lyrics are indecipherable, but their few moment of clean vox gives you a good look into their sick minds. Their best effort so far must be The Codex Necro (2001) closely followed by When Fire Rains Down From The Sky, Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown (2003) and Hell Is Empty, And All The Devils Are Here (2007).

The have a new album due any month now, called In The Constellation Of The Black Widow, and I cannae wait to hear it!

Webcomics

Some webcomics I really like:

Questionable Content: The daily life of a bunch of indie rockers. Good stuff! Most of the characters are on twitter too!

Dork Tower: The daily life of a bunch of geeks. Been following this for ages!

xkcd: Fanfuckingtastic!

Cartoon Network

I have a son aged 5. He likes Cartoon Network a lot. I have come to do so too.

Here's a list of the shows I particularly like:

  • Ben 10: Cool show, with loads of action...
  • The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy: Morbid humour
  • Power Puff Girls: Too cute, nice villains
  • My Gym Partner's a Monkey: Fart jokes, who wants more?
  • Teen Titans: Cool theme song and cool heroes
  • Chowder: More fart jokes, and a great cast!

There are other cool shows on CN, that I can't remember right now.
